Geelong High School, like all Geelong state secondary schools, participate in a range of inter-school sports as part of the School Sport Geelong Competition. There are two districts: Bellarine and Barwon with Geelong High being part of the Bellarine District. The two districts play off to achieve a Geelong winner.
The school competes in the Bellarine Division for Athletics, however Swimming and Cross Country is run as a combined day with all of the schools together.
Team sports include: badminton, basketball, baseball, football, golf, hockey, lawn bowls, netball, table tennis, tennis, soccer, surfing, surf lifesaving and volleyball. Other sports that are organised as interest dictates include equestrian, cycling and rowing.
Selection for these teams takes place during school time with coaching from staff as well as senior students.
Individual sports are based on age groups from 13 to 20 years while team sport in organised as Year 7, Year 8, Intermediate and Senior.

Winners will then progress to the SSV final.
