Rec Sports Class Camp
On the 9th November the Rec Sports Class headed to the back on Lorne in the Angahook National Park for a 2 day Bush Walk.
The waterfalls were flowing well with all the rain we have had and the tracks were quite wet and muddy and with our Covid Fitness levels we had a bit of a challenge on our hands. The students also had to navigate and lead a section of the walk which was interesting at times but we all arrived at our destinations at the end of each day.
There was some excellent teamwork when the hills got steep but it was every person for themselves when it came to getting the preferred pasta sauce at the end of the day. (I think they were a bit hungry!) Tent set-ups were tested on both nights with some heavy rains but the days mostly held out for us which was gold.
Day 1 saw us walking 17.5 km and around 36,000 steps (more for Cienna) and we saw 5 waterfalls, Swallow Cave and walked through The Canyon. Day 2 was 7km where we reached the top of Castle Rock to a magnificent lookout over Cumberland River and out to the Big Blue.
Thanks to Jamilla Cranny for being an excellent offsider and well done to all students on a great effort.
