Geelong High School Information Evening 2026

30-Jan-2026

A NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

"To all families and students beginning their Secondary School experience I say a very warm welcome. Our school is part of a proud community with a long and decorated history in student and school community achievement.

In my time at Geelong High, I have been impressed by the wonderful school that the community has developed over a number of years. It is with great pride that I tell members of the community and other colleagues that I am the Principal at Geelong High.

Students are our priority. Every decision we make will have a student focus and will lead to better outcomes for students. Geelong High has a rich tradition of academic excellence, innovative teaching and learning that allows students to explore their passions.

My years spent at 5 different schools has allowed me to develop some values and beliefs about the role and moral purpose of school. A culture of respect will exist at Geelong High. The students have heard me talk about this already but for me Geelong High will be a school focussed on respect in everything we do. As your Principal a key task for me is to ensure that each child has an outstanding education. The staff at Geelong High are committed to provide an outstanding education for all children.

As Principal, I will be working with staff and parents to ensure that all the students who attend Geelong High are outstanding citizens who are prepared for the challenges of a modern world.

Geelong High has always had high expectation of its students. We confidently believe that high expectations empower students to be responsible for their own behaviour and learning.

If you want to be part of a safe, supportive, dynamic, and genuinely caring community that's committed to delivering an outstanding holistic education and that produces confident, capable, resilient and ethical young people, then Geelong High is the secondary college for you.

Should you choose Geelong High our daily purpose will be to see your child equipped to be the very best version of themselves; to succeed and contribute positively now and in the future.

I am very proud and excited to be Principal at Geelong High. I look forward to working with families to ensure that the school is part of the community and that as a community we can be proud of the values, academic program and extracurricular program on offer."

- Mr Davin Reid
