YEAR 8, 9 & 10 - PARENT INFO EVENING 24-Jun-2016

Important that parents and students need to attend this evening to assist in making informed decisions regarding future subject choices at Geelong High School. Each student should be designing a course that best suits their individual abilities, strengths, interests and will set them up for life.

Current Year 8, 9, 10 and their families will have the opportunity to attend workshops on areas of interest, as well as talk to Geelong High, Deakin University and The Gordon staff. The C.A. Love Hall will showcase all GHS subject areas, with staff happy to answer individual questions. Workshops will run between 6.00 pm and 8.00 pm, however you only need to attend the sessions that are relevant to you. The workshops will run for 20 minutes followed by five minutes of question time.

IMPORTANT NOTICE - WRITTEN PERMISSION FOR EXCURSIONS 15-Dec-2015

Outlined below is the Victorian Government Education Policy around consent for Excursions.

In the past we have taken consent for your child to attend excursions over the phone. We are no longer able to do this. We can accept Faxes, Emails and approvals through Compass.

Please do not ring the Administration Office as we are not authorized to accept verbal consent.

Just a reminder that parents can now access student attendance data, approve absences and track any school issues through the parent portal. We will be rolling out other elements to enhance communication, such as student reports, in the coming months.
